Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026 · Effective: June 1, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Meda Academy collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use our online learning platform, including as a student, instructor, or visitor. This policy is published in English. You may contact us in Arabic or English for privacy questions or requests. By using Meda Academy, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information you provide

When you create an account, we collect your first name, last name, email address, mobile number, and password (stored as a secure hash—we never store your password in plain text). When you enroll in a course, we collect order details (courses selected, prices, and totals) and a CliQ payment proof image that you upload at checkout. When you contact us through the platform, email, WhatsApp, Instagram, or our contact form, we collect the information you choose to send (such as your name, email, mobile number, topic, and message). Instructors provide course information (titles, descriptions, university, syllabus-related details, videos, and documents) when creating and publishing courses.

1.2 Information collected automatically

When you sign in and use the platform, we collect: • Your IP address when a session is created • Session and authentication data needed to keep you signed in • Course and lesson progress, including watch time and completion status • Enrollment status and access expiry dates • Technical information needed to deliver video and document content securely

1.3 Information we do not collect

We do not offer sign-in through Google or other social login providers. We do not store payment card numbers. CliQ payments on Meda Academy are submitted by you as transfer proof (screenshot or image) for manual review—we do not receive your card details through an automated payment gateway on the platform.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use personal information to: • Create and manage your account • Verify your email and reset your password • Process course purchases, review CliQ payment proofs, and approve or reject enrollments • Provide access to enrolled courses for the applicable access period • Track learning progress and display it in your account • Operate instructor tools, course publishing, and enrollment statistics • Send transactional emails only (such as verification codes, password reset codes, and service-related notices)—we do not send marketing newsletters • Respond to support requests by email, WhatsApp, Instagram, or our contact form • Protect the platform, prevent abuse, and enforce our terms • Meet legal, accounting, and operational requirements

3. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal data.

We share information only as described below.

Instructors and course owners

If you enroll in a course, the instructor for that course (and authorized platform administrators) can see information needed to manage enrollments, including your name, email address, and mobile number, along with enrollment status and dates.

Legal and safety

We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of Meda Academy, our users, or others.

4. Payment Proofs & Orders

When you pay via CliQ, you upload a transfer proof (screenshot or image). We store that file and associated order details so our team can verify payment and approve your enrollment. Payment proofs and order records are kept in our database for historical and operational reasons, as described in the Data Retention section.

5. Course Content & DRM

Course videos are delivered through secure streaming with digital rights management (DRM) to help prevent unauthorized copying or distribution. Your viewing activity (such as watch time) is recorded to support progress tracking and platform operation.

6. Data Retention

We keep your account information while your account remains active. Orders, CliQ payment proofs, enrollment records, and related transaction history are retained in our database and are not routinely deleted, including for historical, accounting, and operational reasons—even if you later request account closure. If you ask us to close your account, contact us at meda.company.jo@gmail.com. We will deactivate access where appropriate, but we may retain certain records as required for legal, fraud-prevention, or business record-keeping purposes.

7. Where Your Data Is Stored

Meda Academy is operated from Jordan. Our application and database are currently hosted in Western Europe (Amsterdam, Netherlands). Video and media files may be processed and delivered through a third-party infrastructure. By using the platform, you understand that your information may be stored and processed outside Jordan for service delivery.

8. Cookies & Browser Storage

We use browser local storage to keep you signed in and maintain your session on the device you use. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or sell data to advertisers. If we add optional analytics or additional cookies in the future, we will update this policy. You can clear site data through your browser settings, but doing so may sign you out of the platform.

9. Your Rights

Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to: • Request access to the personal data we hold about you • Request correction of inaccurate information • Request account closure (subject to the retention limits above) • Object to or restrict certain processing where applicable To exercise these rights, email us at meda.company.jo@gmail.com or use our contact page. We aim to respond within 30 days. You may write to us in Arabic or English.

10. Security

We use technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including HTTPS encryption in transit, secure password hashing, access controls for administrators, protected video delivery (DRM), and restricted access to payment proofs and enrollment data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If you believe your account has been compromised or you discover a security issue, contact us immediately at meda.company.jo@gmail.com.

11. Age & Use of the Platform

Meda Academy does not set a fixed minimum age requirement to register. The platform is designed for university-level learning in Jordan. If you are under 18, we recommend using the platform with the knowledge and consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe a minor has provided personal data without appropriate consent, contact us and we will review the request.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will post the updated policy on the platform and update the "last updated" date. Where appropriate, we may also notify you by email. Continued use of Meda Academy after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
